Pittsburgh was recognized once again by Livability.com. The Steel City ranked in the publication again for having one of the top 10 downtowns for mid to small-sized cities.

In 2015, downtown Pittsburgh topped Livability’s best downtowns among small to mid-sized markets. This year, Pittsburgh dropped to number five due to a vacancy rate that was slightly above average and a lower projected growth.

“Downtown Pittsburgh didn’t lose any points when it comes to entertainment and affordable living options. Historic Market Square fills with office workers and students from nearby colleges during lunchtime, and draws in residents from across the city with vibrant nightlife,” the report said.

At number five, Pittsburgh ranks above cities such as Tempe, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, and Plano, TX.

“Having a great downtown is about more than just great stores, and great restaurants. A great downtown needs people,” said Matt Carmichael, editor of Livability.com.
