Police: 2 Slippery Rock Students Charged In Off-Campus Rape

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.,None — Two Slippery Rock students have been arrested on charges they raped a student off campus.

Bryan Chieze, 21, and Braydon Micaletti, 22, both of New Castle, were arrested on Saturday.

Borough police said both assaulted the woman after overpowering her at an apartment along West Cooper Street on Sept. 29.

"I could never in a million years believe they could do this. They are good guys," said the suspect's friend.

A witness told police she opened the door to the room and saw the victim was hysterical. When she reopened the door seconds later, the witness said Micaletti was on the bed in a fetal position and Chieze was begging her not to tell his girlfriend what she saw.

"It's definitely concerning on a campus like ours because we think we're safe. It just heightens our awareness so we stick close together," said student Leah Nobers.
