Police Arrest Man After Finding Stolen Python In Car

SOUTH UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — Police said they arrested a man in South Union Township after he stole a television and a python from a home nearby.

According to investigators, Cody Hanan was stopped by officers after a resident reported a break-in at his home.

Blake Muha said Hanan was at his house earlier in the day and asked if he could purchase the snake.

"He asked me to buy one of the snakes and I said no. I guess that wasn't a good enough answer so he came in and stole it," Muha said.

Police said when they pulled Hanan over, the snake was inside of the car. But after arresting Hanan, the snake disappeared.

"When they [the officers] went back outside to look through the vehicle, the snake wasn't there," Trooper Scott Krofcheck said.

Muha said he looked through the car as well and couldn't find his pet.

"It's pretty upsetting. I hope I get my snake back," Muha said.

Hanan was placed in the Fayette County Prison.
