IRWIN, Pa.,None — A man who once threatened to blow up a county courthouse has been charged with posting a threat against the Irwin police chief on Craigslist.
Authorities said Adrian Peter Stock, 29, made the threat against Joseph Pocsatko in February after the Irwin chief cited him for failing to clear the ice and snow from his car windows.
That same day, investigators said Stock got online and threatened to kill the chief through an online posting.
Pocsatko said the post threatened to chain him to a truck and drown him in a creek.
After a lengthy investigation, police said they were able to trace the threat back to Stock.
"You can't threaten anyone in this commonwealth. He took a simple traffic stop, a simple violation, to the next level by threatening a police chief, even a police officer, you can't threaten anyone," Pocstako said.
Stock pleaded guilty in 2008 to threatening to blow up the Westmoreland County Courthouse. The Jeannette man also pleaded guilty in 2000 to ramming a police vehicle.
County detectives issued a harassment citation to Stock last week.
A preliminary hearing is set for June 23.
Stock was accused of threatening to blow up the Westmoreland County courthouse last year, according to investigators.
