1 arrested, 1 on run after Lawrence County jewelry heist

One man remains on the run or missing, and another is in police custody after a jewelry heist in Lawrence County Tuesday.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Police said James Sims was arrested early Tuesday morning after he and another man attempted rob Greeks House of Gold in New Castle.

Investigators said Sims’ accomplice, Christopher Jackson, ran from police and jumped into the Shenango River.

The owner of the store told Channel 11’s Brandon Hudson that he lives behind his business and heard the alarm going off.

Police Chief Robert Salem said the thieves took two Rolex watches worth thousands of dollars.

Crews spent hours searching for Jackson, but so far he has not been located.

Sims is facing burglary charges.
