PITTSBURGH — Pittsburghers are hoping to see the Steelers serve up a loss to the Chiefs Sunday, but a restaurant on the city’s South Side is supporting the black and gold by refusing to serve any Kansas City-style BBQ.
South Side BBQ Company owner Patrick Joyce says there’s plenty of other options for its customers to choose from, so Kansas City BBQ won’t have a place on the menu heading into the divisional round playoff game.
“By doing so, it's an opportunity for Pittsburghers to get together as one and cheer on the Steelers on to a victory,” Joyce says.
When the Steelers took on -- and defeated -- the Miami Dolphins last weekend in the AFC Wild Card Game, Primanti Bros. restaurants had a similar way of supporting the black and gold. The restaurants did not serve fish all weekend.
