State police find 250 packets of suspected heroin during traffic stop

A man was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses after Pennsylvania State Police found 250 packets of suspected heroin in his SUV during a traffic stop.

Aaron Keith Blackwell, of Johnstown, was arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Mark Mansour.

The incident happened Friday when state police pulled Blackwell over for a tinted window violation as he was traveling on Route 22 near Route 119 in Salem Township, Westmoreland County.

State police in Greensburg said they searched the vehicle of after seeing a marijuana cigarette in plain view and noticing a strong odor of marijuana in his car.

Police said the search turned up 250 glassine packets of suspected heroin, stamped "Raw Diesel," 19.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 16.1 grams of suspected marijuana.

Blackwell was being held in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bond as of Sunday afternoon.
