The Bus Gives Back To The Kids

PITTSBURGH,None — The Bus, Jerome Bettis, was back in Pittsburgh Wednesday for two big events to help local children.

First, the Jerome Bettis Asthma and Sports Camp, which returned for its second year.

The camp was sponsored by the American Respiratory Alliance of Western Pennsylvania, the Asthma Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and The Jerome Bettis "Bus Stops Here" Foundation.

The free camp was designed for children from western Pennsylvania who are diagnosed with asthma to learn about the condition and how they can be physically active in a safe environment.

Activities included educational sessions with asthma experts from Children's Hospital, as well as sports activities led by Bettis and other volunteer athletes from the Pittsburgh Passion women's football team.

From there, Bettis held his Cyberbus Computer camp.

The students successfully completed a computer camp supported by the Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation, Duquesne University and Pittsburgh Public Schools.

The program's goal was to narrow the digital divide by helping all children learn how to use computers and to have access to them.
