$25,000 donation not enough to reopen Dormont Pool

DORMONT, Pa. — The Dormont Pool will remain closed this season, even with the offer of a $25,000 donation.

Last week, Friends of Dormont Pool said it would donate the money to help keep it open.

Council members said Monday night they can’t accept the donation if it’s contingent on opening the pool.

They added it will be too difficult to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and that opening is too much of a safety risk.
