Alabama air filter maker plans to take over part of old Alcoa plant, create 120 new jobs

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — An Alabama-based company that manufactures air filters plans to take over part of the old Alcoa plant property spanning Arnold and New Kensington.

According to our partners at TribLive.com, Filterbuy will lease 137,000 feet of space in the New Kensington Advanced Manufacturing Park spanning Arnold and New Kensington. It will create at least 120 new full-time jobs over three years.

The industrial park was originally the site of Alcoa’s New Kensington works aluminum plant in the early 1900s.

This will be Filterbuy’s first operation in the northeast United States. The company makes air conditioner and furnace filters for homes and businesses.
