Armstrong County humane officers looking into suspicious deaths of multiple cats

FORD CITY, Pa. — A disturbing animal case out of Ford City in Armstrong County.

Four cats were found dead in the same yard outside a home along Hobson Drive earlier this week.

Armstrong County’s Humane Officer Chris O’Donnell said this aroused some suspicion so one of the cats was taken to a local veterinarian to determine its cause of death.

“Dr. Sandra Rodkey, medical director of Altmeyer Veterinarian Hospital and I did do an necropsy on the kitty and the urine analysis did flourish as if it had been poisoned with the antifreeze,” O’Donnell said.

Causing serious bodily injury or the death of an animal is a felony in Pennsylvania which can result in jail time and fines.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to email details and their contact information to humaneofficerac@gmail.com.

Officials recommend keeping cats inside and dogs under supervision to keep them safe.
