Armstrong County teen killed in crash

KITTANNING, Pa. — An Armstrong County teen was killed Thursday afternoon when the SUV he was driving veered off the road and hit an embankment.

Brandon Michael Beckett, 17, of McGrann, was driving north on State Route 66 towards Kittanning around 2:30 p.m. when the crash happened.

Beckett died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, and speed is considered a factor in the crash, according to the Armstrong County coroner.

Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks.
