CHESWICK, Pa. — Right behind a family home in Cheswick, a bear was spotted roaming around overnight and it was caught on cellphone video.
“It was terrifying,” Madison Gerome said.
Gerome said it was the last thing they expected to encounter. She took video of the bear rubbing up against a tree around midnight along Lefever Hill Road.
“When we pulled up I just took a double take because it did not look like a typical bear,” Ryan Petrone said.
Petrone and Gerome both think it was looking for food. Their bird feeders were found damaged after the bear ran off.
Officials said if you spot a bear stay away from it and call the Game Commission.
