Cases for Terrelle Pryor, girlfriend postponed after new evidence announced by prosecution

PITTSBURGH — NFL free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor walked into court on Thursday, just two weeks after police said he was nearly killed by his girlfriend during a violent dispute at their Pittsburgh apartment.

His girlfriend Shalaya Briston was also in court, but their cases will be heard another time.

The judge sided with prosecutors, who requested a continuance to conduct further investigation -- postponing Pyror’s preliminary hearing on a misdemeanor simple assault charge another week.

Briston’s hearing was postponed as well. She faces aggravated assault and attempted homicide, as police said she delivered the nearly fatal stab wounds to Pryor during the fight at the Heinz Lofts in November.
