O'HARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. — O’Hara Township has voted to rename Squaw Valley Park, according to our partners at the Trib.
There has been controversy surrounding the name.

The term “squaw” is considered an ethnic slur. Activists say it is very offensive to Native American women, and they don’t want it used anymore in the Fox Chapel area.
The Trib said the council voted 6 to 1 to rename the site O’Hara Township Community Park.
