Crews working to patch potholes across Washington County

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Crews are working to patch potholes across Washington County.

They told Channel 11 it's a race against time and a huge undertaking.

On Glen Street in the city of Washington, drivers have to weave through the potholes.

Public works crews allowed Channel 11 to follow them around Wednesday as they went from street to street, trying to fill in all of the potholes.

They fill in hundreds each day.

"They're popping up all over the place," said Jim Moore, with Washington Public Works. "Everyone says it's the worst, but I've seen them worse."

Crews have been working around the rain, day and night, for the last two weeks.

And while the job seems never-ending, they hope the appreciation from residents sticks around.

"Some of them are thanking us. A lot of them are thanking us today. A few of them tell us where there's more potholes," Moore said.

There are nine members of the team with 52 miles of road to cover. Council members said each road has at least one pothole.
