Fire breaks out at business in Bloomfield

PITTSBURGH — A fire broke out Tuesday morning at a business in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood.

Firefighters were called shortly after 4 a.m. to Liberty Avenue, where smoke could be seen coming from windows above Pizza Italia.

Officials said crews first spotted the fire on the first floor of the building.

There were people in an upstairs apartment when the fire started.

No one was hurt, but firefighters were seen giving oxygen to an animal on the curb outside the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The people who live in the apartment will be receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
