The City of Butler is about to become one of the first places in the state to open a medical marijuana dispensary.

Less than two weeks and the facility in Butler will be open for business.

On Thursday, operators opened the doors to show what they're doing inside.

The Butler County dispensary will be the first to open in Western Pennsylvania and the second statewide.

City leaders we talked with said this is going to help Butler's economy.

Cresco Yeltrah Runs the CY+ dispensary on Pillow Street.

By Feb. 15, the dispensary plans to be stocked with more than 100 different medical marijuana products.

“It's an honor to have a part of the future in the city and it's encouraging to know people are going to be able to come to Butler and other parts of Pennsylvania eventually to get some relief and get some help for issues and the problems they have,” Yeltrah said.

The dispensary will offer one-on-one consultations to help patients get matched with products that best work for their needs.

This same company will also be opening a dispensary soon in the Strip District.
