BETHEL PARK, Pa. — The preliminary hearing for a former employee of a local day care center continued on Thursday.
Tiffany Williams is charged with two counts of aggravated assault stemming from her treatment of two infants while she worked at Tutor Time day care in Bethel Park in 2017.
A 7-month-old sustained a fractured skull, authorities said. The child’s parent noticed a soft spot on the baby’s head and took her to Children’s Hospital, the criminal complaint said.

Surveillance video showed Williams abusing the children in September 2017, according to the criminal complaint. But investigators didn’t see that video until nearly two years later.
It was provided by the attorney representing the infant’s parents in a civil lawsuit.
According to the criminal complaint, the video showed Williams throwing the 7-month-old to the ground repeatedly. It reads: “Williams is holding Jane Doe #1 in a chair then picks her up and forcibly puts her on her lap causing (her) to hit her head on Williams’ knee.”
Investigators said the video showed another infant being handled roughly by Williams.
During Thursday’s court hearing, an Allegheny County police officer testified that Williams admitted to being frustrated and overwhelmed that Sept. day. The officer narrated parts of the surveillance video that prosecutors claim shows Williams causing a 7-month-old to get a skull fracture and covering another child’s face with a pillow.
Williams’ attorney said she was playing with the children and that her charges were negligent at best because there were other workers in the facility at the time.
