PLUM, Pa. — Plum native and former NFL punter Pat McAfee helped a local bowling alley blow past its crowdfunding goal to stay in business.

According to our partners at TribLive.com, a GoFundMe account was created with the goal of raising $100,000 so that Nesbit’s Lanes could stay in business. It closed Feb. 1 with nearly $124,300, thanks in large part to McAfee’s donation. He chipped in two donations of nearly $36,000.

“Nesbit’s is a staple of the Plum community,” McAfee told TribLive.com. “I’ve had the privilege of bowling there, hanging out there and using their parking lot in times of need in high school.”

The bowling alley opened in 1946. Donors left various compliments and donations in memory of friends and family who took them bowling over the years.
