PITTSBURGH — If you notice a herd of goats on the Carnegie Mellon University campus the next few days, you’re not seeing things.
Starting Wednesday, goats from Allegheny GoatScape will spend three days and nights clearing the overgrown hillside between the Gates Center and Purnell Center for the Arts.
Campus officials said the goats will be confined to the work area by a green plastic fence accompanied with an electric fence. There will also be accompanied by their protective miniature donkey.
Campus officials said this is a trial program to support the university’s commitment to a healthy environment.
