Kennywood Park hires new general manager

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Kennywood Park has hired a new general manager, park officials announced on Thursday.

Mark Pauls started at the park on June 29, shortly before the park opened for the 2020 summer season.

Pauls takes over from Jerome Gibas, who stepped down from his role after 40 years.

Before coming to Kennywood, Pauls served as park president at SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando, and also spent time working at Busch Gardens.

“It’s easy to see how important maintaining tradition is for Kennywood, as an old park with so many historic rides,” Pauls said in a news release. “I look forward to learning more from our Team Members and Guests about Kennywood and how we build its history to create an exciting future.”

Pauls said his top priorities are overseeing the new health and safety measures put in place at the park in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
