SPEERS, Pa. — A Westmoreland County man is in jail after police said he stopped his car in the middle of the interstate with his two young kids inside
Investigators say, Anthony Muro, 38, parked his car in the middle of I-70 in Washington County near the Speers exit Monday afternoon with his 3-year-old and 9-year-old children inside.
Muro got out of the car, abandoned it and his two kids and aggressively approached a Pennsylvania State Police trooper monitoring traffic on the side of the road, police said.

According to the criminal complaint, the trooper ordered Muro multiple times to stop and that he was under arrest, but he continued toward the trooper and tried to grab his gun.
The trooper ultimately stopped Muro and placed him under arrest.
Muro is facing several charges including aggravated assault, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of children.
