PENN HILLS, Pa. — Allegheny County police are investigating a homicide early Tuesday in Penn Hills.
Detectives were called to Garden Drive at 12:45 a.m. after someone called 911 to report a shooting, police said.

When police got there, they said they found a man in the parking lot of an apartment complex with gunshot wounds.
The medical examiner later identified the victim as 15-year-old Jafar Brooks. He was found lying next to an Escalade. Investigators were very focused on that vehicle, and marked a bunch of shell casings found on the ground around it.
Investigators said Brooks died at the scene.
