Owner grazed by bullet during attempted robbery at Edgewood convenience store

EDGEWOOD, Pa. — Allegheny County police are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting at a store in Edgewood.

It happened about 1:30 p.m. at the Edgewood Avenue Express Market on Edgewood Avenue.

Police said the robber entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money from one of the employees. The owner told Channel 11 he told the robber to leave. That’s when the robber opened fire, and the owner was grazed with a bullet.

The robber tried to shoot the owner again, but the gun jammed and he was then chased out of the store.

The owner was treated by paramedics and is expected to survive. He told Channel 11 he’s back at work already.
