Man killed in Pittsburgh; neighbors report it was drive-by shooting

PITTSBURGH — A man was shot and killed in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood Thursday evening in the 300 block of Kirk Avenue.

Police said the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., when Robert Thomas, 36, of Pittsburgh, suffered fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Neighbors said the man was shot while placing a baby in a vehicle, and the two suspects were wearing black ski masks and sped off in an SUV.

Police continue to investigate.
