Neighbors say they had 'no clue' about suspected meth lab

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Chopper 11 gave us an overhead view as officials raided a suspected Westmoreland County meth lab.

The operation was within sight of a day care.

Jason Wood and Kristen Hatbob are two suspects accused of running a meth lab out of a home in New Kensington.

Both were arrested Friday after police raided the home on Kenneth Avenue.

Officers detailed a list of ingredients they found inside, from Drano to boxes of decongestants, muratic acid, fuel and battery strippings.

"Nobody had no clue at all,” Ed Stone, who works on the same street, "It's shocking. Like totally unbelievable, it could've exploded. Anything could've happened."

Neighbors said they didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Investigators said they found "one pot" cooking operations both in the basement and on the third floor.

Police said Wood was the one cooking, but Hatbob allegedly told police she allowed him to cook the methamphetamine and she's used the meth he's produced in the past.
