No new COVID-19 deaths reported in Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Health officials in Pennsylvania reported no new deaths from the coronavirus as well as 521 additional positive cases across the state Monday.

The total since the pandemic began rose to 134,025 cases with the new ones added.

The number of tests administered within the last seven days between August 24 and August 30 is 159,917 with 4,456 positive cases. There were 22,467 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., August 30.

The majority of people hospitalized were between the ages of 25-49, and most of the deaths occurred in people 65 or older.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 remained at 7,673 people.

So far, 1,524,195 people have tested negative in the state. The population of Pennsylvania was about 12.8 million people in 2019.

In Allegheny County, health officials reported 99 new cases of COVID-19, but no deaths in the last 24 hours. New cases ranged in age from 4-100 years of age, with an average age of 34.
