MCCANDLESS, Pa. — A local restaurant chain that spent tens of thousands of dollars on an air filtration system to keep people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic has now closed one location after an employee tested positive.

According to a social media post, an employee at the North Park Lounge location in McCandless tested positive for coronavirus and had last worked there on Saturday, June 20. The post said the air filtration system, which is used in hospitals nationwide, “cannot protect our staff from contracting this virus somewhere else.”

The system, called CASPR, not only cleans the air, but also tables, walls and every other surface inside the restaurant.
