MCCANDLESS, Pa. — Residents of a North Hills community may soon let people keep chickens in their backyards.
McCandless Council introduced an ordinance allowing people to raise chickens, according to our news partners at TribLIVE.com.
That ordinance requires residents to keep their chicken coop in the backyard, 100 feet away from any other home, street or property line.
People had started asking McCandless leaders about this nearly a year ago, the Trib reports. The ordinance could be approved as early as August.
