Pitt giving out cash, other prizes to encourage students, staff to get COVID-19 vaccine

PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh is now offering incentives for students, faculty and staff to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Cash incentives of up to $2,500, gift certificates and tickets to sporting events are among the prizes that can be won.

In order to be eligible for weekly drawings, which start June 23, fully vaccinated students and employees need to fill out a vaccine disclosure form.

The drawings will take place every week through the first week of August.

Pitt is not requiring COVID-19 vaccinations like other schools, but it is strongly encouraging them.
