Pittsburgh parking officer suspended for blocking street, refusing to move for ambulance

A Pittsburgh parking enforcement officer has been suspended after officials said she was caught on camera allegedly blocking the street with her car and refusing to move for an ambulance.

According to Parking Authority Executive Director Dave Onorato, the incident happened on Nov. 16 on Atwood Street in Oakland.

Onorato told Channel 11 they are not supposed to block streets at all. Those officers are supposed to pull over to a “safe area,” which is mostly for emergency vehicles -- such as ambulances.

That officer has not been identified, but officials confirmed she has been suspended without pay pending the result of an investigation.
