GREENSBURG, Pa. — Police said the smell of marijuana recently led officers to discover hundreds of stamp bags of heroin.
Officers were on patrol on Tremont Avenue in Greensburg after receiving a tip about suspected drug activity in that area.
According to a criminal complaint, they pulled up behind a vehicle that was parked on the side of the road with its lights on.
When the officers approached the vehicle, they said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana.
Officers said they asked the five men inside the vehicle to step outside while they searched the vehicle.

First, officers said they found a small amount of marijuana. When one of the officers lifted the rear bench seat, he said he also found several boxes that contained suspected heroin.
According to police, the boxes contained 455 stamp bags.
The men were identified as Marvin Posey, Chase Ferguson, Artie Ziegler, Kevin Hall and Mitchell Thompson.
All are charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, violation of the controlled substance act, delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
