PITTSBURGH — A man was arrested after a fight in downtown Pittsburgh that started when he allegedly screamed racial slurs at a man, a woman and her daughter, police said.
Police responded to the fight Monday at the Wood Street T Station and found Nathanael McDonough bleeding, but he could not remember why, according to a criminal complaint.
The man and woman told officers that McDonough screamed the racial slurs and then became aggressive, police said. That’s when the man punched McDonough.

After the altercation, McDonough started screaming racial slurs at more people as they got off the T, the complaint said.
McDonough started banging his head against a pole and tried to get away from officers as they put handcuffs on him, police said. He is charged with aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness.
