Suspect in Braddock shooting arrested

BRADDOCK — UPDATE 2:16 P.M.

Allegheny County police said Dion Parker was taken into custody without incident at a home in the Carrick section of Pittsburgh.

He was taken to the Allegheny County jail and is awaiting arraignment.

UPDATE 8:35 A.M.

Allegheny County police have issued an arrest warrant for Dion Parker, 22, in connection with the early Tuesday morning shooting in Braddock.

Parker has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons violations.

Police believe Park is originally from the Braddock area but is currently homeless.

Police said anyone who sees Parker should contact 911 immediately. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

A 19-year-old man was shot in a bedroom at a home in Braddock early Tuesday morning, police said.

The shooting, which was reported shortly after 4 a.m. on Verona Street, happened after the victim and another person got into an argument, Braddock Mayor John Fetterman said.
