Porch pirate caught on video stealing package from Lawrenceville man’s home

PITTSBURGH — Another porch pirate has hit the Pittsburgh area – this time in Lawrenceville.

Someone took a package from the home Friday afternoon, but it’s not the first time that has happened. The homeowner told Channel 11 he has had two other packages taken from him before.

That’s why he installed a security camera, and this time he has the video to prove it.

The video recorded the moment a man in a vest walked by his house. Jake Miller said what’s most frustrating is that it was a gift he planned on giving his mother.

“A custom poster… it was like a son-to-mom sentimental piece – like with a quote and a picture that was framed,” Miller said.

Miller told Channel 11 police now have that footage.

Police haven’t identified the suspected porch pirate, but they are investigating.
