PITTSBURGH — The number of employees in the state of Pennsylvania who make more than $200,000 a year has grown from 52 a year ago to 111 as of Dec. 15, according to data published by the state.
By department, the largest number of employees topping $200,000 was the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education — made up of 14 state colleges, including regionally California University of Pennsylvania, Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
Top positions at the university system, such as college presidents, provosts and vice presidents, accounted for 45 of the 111 earning more than $200,000, according to the data at PennWATCH.
