Rescue crews rush to help man after car drags him over hill in Pittsburgh’s South Side

PITTSBURGH — Rescue crews rushed to help a man after his vehicle dragged him over a hillside Friday evening in Pittsburgh’s South Side.

Officials said the incident happened just before 5 p.m. in the 3400 block of East Carson Street.

Witnesses to rescue crews the man was trying to push his disable vehicle out of the middle of the road and into a parking space when he lost control of it. The vehicle dragged him over a hill and he landed near CSX train tracks below.

Officials were able to briefly stop train traffic in the area while other crews worked to stabilize the man and bring him up the hill.

Medics said the man suffered a broken arm and cuts to his face. He was conscious and alert when he was taken to a nearby hospital.
