According to state police, a man driving one of the vehicles was driving west on Route 85 when he did not stop for the second vehicle, which was waiting to make a left turn, and rear-ended it.

The second vehicle was pushed into the path of the eastbound school bus and struck it. The bus driver was taken from the scene by ambulance, but died of her injuries.

Slovinsky was a wife and mother who cared deeply for her family, relatives said. She was involved with the PTA at McCreery Elementary School in Indiana.

"She lived for her husband and lived for her three boys and that was her life. That was her life," said Diana Bellman.

Marion Center Area School District Clint Weimer said Slovinsky was a bus driver for four years with Smith Bus Co. and will be missed.

"I would want her to be remembered for the very kind and beautiful person that she was," Bellman said.
