Scott Township mother calls bus stop ‘dangerous,’ concerned about drivers blowing through stop sign

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Scott Township mother is sounding the alarm about a school bus stop she’s calling “dangerous.”

Megan Edkins lives near the intersection of Robin Drive and Meadow Lane.

She says at least a dozen cars blow through the four-way stop signs there each day.

She’s concerned about her 6-year-old daughter getting on and off the bus there as she goes to and from Chartiers Valley Primary School for kindergarten.

“I’ve been putting her on the bus and at the same time yelling for people to slow down,” said Edkins. “It’s a little ridiculous to see little kids out and know that they’re here, but still continue to go through the signs.”

Edkins says she’s talked to police and has seen officers patrolling the area a few times, but she’d like to see stricter enforcement.

Channel 11 reached out to police but did not hear back.
