DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Several animals died in a fire that badly damaged a home Wednesday morning in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.
The fire started just after 8:30 a.m. on East First Avenue at Blaine Way.
Siding on the two-story home was melted and charred.
Two dogs, a cat and a chinchilla died in the fire, officials said.
A fire marshal is investigating what caused the fire.
