PITTSBURGH — The people of Pittsburgh came together in Squirrel Hill on Sunday to prove their community is stronger than hate.
Uncover Squirrel Hill organized the event in the neighborhood's business district.

The community day was a safe space for family, friends and strangers to come together for camaraderie, conversation and to begin to heal.
"People came (from) as far as Maryland and Ohio to be a part of this today, to support this neighborhood. It's really beautiful to see an outpouring of support," said Jamison Combson, a coordinator for the event.
There were several activities set up along Forbes Avenue, like face painting, balloon artists and crafts for kids.
