PITTSBURGH — Star gazers will get a treat Wednesday night as the Draconid meteor shower lights up the sky.
The meteors, aka shooting stars, will be best seen around nightfall, so as soon as it gets dark outside, you should be able to look up and see quite a show. No special equipment will be needed, but if you live in an urban area, you may want to drive away from the city lights to view the meteors better. There will be a few meteors, about 5-10, to fly across the sky each hour.

Conditions across Western Pennsylvania will be ideal for watching the meteor shower. The few clouds from the day will clear tonight, making for a mostly clear sky. Temperatures around sunset will be in the upper 60s and falling through evening. The winds will calm to 5-10 mph from the northwest.
