Thieves use someone else’s identity to buy thousands of dollars in jewelry

MT. LEBANON, Pa. — Police in Mt. Lebanon are working to catch thieves who allegedly used someone else’s identity to buy thousands of dollars worth of jewelry at Jared Galleria on McKnight Road.

Investigators said the crime occurred on Jan. 11, but just a couple of days beforehand, the suspects reportedly used the same victim’s information to open a Verizon account and buy four cellphones.

Cameras caught the suspects leaving the store in what may be a gray Dodge Journey. Police said there may have been more people inside the SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mt. Lebanon police.
