PITTSBURGH — And then there were three …
The bald eagles in Pittsburgh’s Hays neighborhood are now caring for three eggs in their nest.
Egg No. 3 was laid Thursday afternoon, according to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania.
The first egg arrived on Feb. 11, followed by the second egg on Feb. 14.

This is the sixth time in the Hays bald eagle pair’s breeding history that they’ve laid three eggs in one season, the Audubon Society said.
Eggs take about 35 days to hatch.
With eggs in the nest, an adult bald eagle will stay on the nest constantly to incubate them, the Audubon Society said. The adult eagles will take turns so the nest is never left unattended.
