ERIE, Pa. — Animal cruelty officers near Erie are searching for whoever threw four kittens out of a car, killing two of them.
Our partners at ErieNewsNow reported that the animals were were found on Tuesday, after another driver witnessed the abuse.
The cats that did survive were taken to the Anna Shelter, where a veterinarian treated them for a broken leg and jaw. The shelter posted about the incident on Facebook.

“Not that I’m condoning abandoning animals or dumping them anywhere, but certainly throwing them out of a car, there’s no way they aren’t going to have injuries,” Ruth Thompson with the Anna Shelter said to ErieNewsNow.
Thompson added that people who adopted animals at the beginning of the pandemic are now returning them, due to financial issues.
She said pet owners can always surrender their animals to help them get the care they need.
