‘Unauthorized’ person prompts brief lockdown at North Allegheny Senior High School

WEXFORD, Pa. — North Allegheny Senior High School was placed on lockdown Friday morning after an “unauthorized individual” entered the building, according to district officials.

The person walked into the school at about 8 a.m., leading to the lockdown that lasted until about 9:45 a.m.

Officials said there’s no indication that the person posed an imminent threat to students and staff, but the building was searched and secured before the lockdown was lifted, officials said.

The person was later found at their home, and the McCandless Police Department is handling the situation.

All classes and activities resumed after the lockdown. The Senior Send-Off will take place as scheduled Friday evening.
