NEW-KENSINGTON, Pa. — A Valley High School teacher has been accused of sending inappropriate sexual text messages to an underage student.
New Kensington Police charged Sean Timothy O’Neil, 34, of North Apollo, with felony counts of disseminating explicit sexual materials to a minor, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, and criminal use of a communication facility.
The Superintendent of the school district released the following statement:
“Oneil was told not to report back to school grounds, and his employment would be discussed with a district labor attorney, but they’re continuing to cooperate with investigators.”
Investigators were reportedly tipped off about this after a report made by a Children and Youth Services caseworker. O’Neil was arraigned Thursday morning before New Kensington District Judge Frank Pallone Jr. and released after posting bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 13.
