10:17 P.M. UPDATE: The Veterans Bridge is open. A crash on the ramp from Bigelow Boulevard to the bridge required a heavy police presence in the area.
Police have shut down the Veterans Bridge in Pittsburgh on Thursday night as falling snow and wet roads have made driving conditions hazardous.
A Channel 11 news crew was there as the bridge connecting the Parkway North to Downtown over the Allegheny River was closed to motorists.

Police cruisers moved into place to block the bridge from traffic.
