Volunteers needed to make masks for home healthcare workers

PITTSBURGH — Businesses and volunteers are stepping up to help make masks for healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Advantage Home Health Services is asking volunteers to help make masks for its workers who have to go into homes to take care of people.

Volunteers are being given the supplies -- vacuum bags, hair ties and fabric -- to make the masks.

About 300 masks have been made in just a few days. The goal is to get 1,000.
